How Elevate Stats handles your data.

Elevate Stats is operated by Elevate Sports Labs Inc. ("Elevate Sports Labs," "we," "us," or "our"), a Canadian company incorporated in the Province of Ontario. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you visit the Elevate Stats marketing site at elevatestats.app (the "Site") or use the Elevate Stats application at app.elevatestats.app (the "App"). Together, the Site and the App are referred to as the "Services."
By using our Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Who We Are
Elevate Sports Labs Inc. is the controller of the personal information collected through the Services. Elevate Stats is a product operated under Elevate Sports Labs Inc.

2. What This Policy Covers
This policy applies to two separate experiences within Elevate Stats:
- The Site — our marketing website at elevatestats.app, including landing pages, blog posts, and any contact or signup forms.
- The App — the Progressive Web App (and any future native mobile apps) at app.elevatestats.app that coaches, parents, and team staff use to track hockey statistics.
Some sections below apply only to one or the other. We've noted when that's the case.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Give Us
When you use the App:
- Account details: email address, password (stored encrypted by our authentication provider), and display name.
- If you sign in with Google: your email address and name as provided by Google.
- Team and roster information you enter: team name, level (e.g., U13, U15), league, season, player first and last names, jersey numbers, positions, and handedness.
- Opponent information: team names and abbreviations.
- Game data: dates, locations, scores, shot events, goal scorers, assists, and any notes you add.
- Billing details (for paid subscriptions): handled directly by our payment processor (see section 5). We do not see or store your credit card number.
When you use the Site:
- Any information you submit through contact forms or newsletter signups (typically name and email).
3.2 Information Collected Automatically
On the Site:
- Standard web analytics data (pages visited, referring source, approximate location, device and browser type). We use this to understand how the Site is performing and improve it.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See section 8.
In the App:
- We do not currently use analytics or tracking tools inside the App.
- Our hosting and backend providers (listed in section 5) automatically log technical request data such as IP addresses and timestamps for security and reliability purposes.
- We may add privacy-respecting analytics to the App in the future. If we do, we will update this policy and notify users where required.
3.3 Information About Minors (Youth Hockey Players)
Elevate Stats is used by coaches, team staff, and parents to track statistics for amateur hockey teams. When you use the App, you may enter personal information about minors (youth players), such as first and last names, jersey numbers, and on-ice performance data.
We do not collect this information directly from minors. It is entered by adult account holders (coaches, team staff, or parents) on behalf of the players.
By entering information about a minor, you confirm that you have the authority to do so — for example, because you are the player's coach, team manager, or parent, or because you have obtained consent from the player's parent or legal guardian.
If you are a parent or guardian and you believe information about your child has been entered into the App without appropriate authority, please contact us at privacy@elevatesportslabs.com and we will work with you to review or remove that information.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Provide the core functionality of the App (tracking games, managing rosters, generating statistics and insights).
- Process subscription payments and manage your billing.
- Communicate with you about your account, service updates, and support requests.
- Send you marketing emails about Elevate Stats and other Elevate Sports Labs products, if you have consented to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by contacting us directly.
- Improve the Services, diagnose problems, and protect against fraud and abuse.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on trusted third-party providers to run the Services. These providers process personal information on our behalf under contractual obligations to keep it secure and use it only for the purposes we authorize.

Because these providers are based outside Canada, your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries. When your information is in another country, it is subject to the laws of that country, which may allow government authorities to access it under applicable legal processes.
6. AI Insights
The App includes an AI Insights feature that generates written summaries and observations about your team's performance. To create these insights, we send a portion of your game and team data to a third-party AI service provider located in the United States.
The data we send includes team and opponent names, game results, shot and scoring events, and player identifiers in an abbreviated form (first name plus last-name initial only — for example, "Alex S."). We do not send full last names, dates of birth, contact information, or any off-ice personal details.
Our AI provider is contractually prohibited from using this data to train their own models or for any purpose other than returning the insight to you.
If you do not want your team's data processed by our AI provider, do not use the AI Insights feature. We may add a dedicated opt-out control in a future update.
7. Payments
Paid subscriptions to Elevate Stats are processed by Stripe. When you enter payment details, you are interacting directly with Stripe's secure checkout — we never see or store your full card number, CVV, or expiry date.
Stripe sends us limited information needed to manage your subscription, including your email address, a Stripe customer ID, and your current subscription status. Stripe's own privacy practices are described at stripe.com/privacy.
Refunds: Subscriptions are non-refundable. You may cancel your subscription at any time to avoid future charges, and you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.
8. Cookies and Local Storage
8.1 On the Site (elevatestats.app)
We use cookies and similar technologies on the Site to make it work properly, remember your preferences, and measure how visitors use the site. Some of these cookies are set by third-party analytics providers.
When you first visit the Site, you will see a cookie banner that lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time through the banner or your browser settings.
8.2 In the App (app.elevatestats.app)
The App does not use tracking cookies. It does use your browser's local storage and offline database (IndexedDB) to:
- Keep you signed in between visits.
- Remember your tracking preferences (such as period length and quick-mode settings).
- Store game data locally so you can keep tracking when arena Wi-Fi drops out. This data syncs to our servers when your connection returns.
You can clear this data at any time by signing out or clearing your browser's site data.
9. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your personal information from our live systems within a reasonable period.
Some information may persist in encrypted backups for a limited time after deletion (typically up to 30 days), after which it is permanently removed according to our backup provider's retention cycle. Information we are legally required to retain (for example, tax and billing records) will be kept for the period required by law.
10. Your Rights
Under Canadian privacy law (including PIPEDA) and, where applicable, the privacy laws of your province or country, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your account and associated personal information.
- Withdraw consent to any processing that is based on your consent (such as marketing emails).
- Complain to a privacy regulator. In Canada, that is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@elevatesportslabs.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 30 days.
Currently, account deletion and full data export requests are handled manually by our team. We are working to add self-service options to the App.
11. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
- Encryption of data at rest on our backend provider's infrastructure.
- Row-level security policies in our database, so users can only access their own data.
- Verified payment webhook signatures to prevent billing fraud.
- Password hashing handled by our authentication provider.
No system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at privacy@elevatesportslabs.com.
12. Children Using the Services
The Services are intended for users 16 years of age or older. We do not knowingly allow children under 16 to create accounts. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.
This is separate from the information about minors entered by coaches and parents, which is addressed in section 3.3.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, legal requirements, or business practices. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy will always show when it was most recently revised.
If we make material changes, we will notify users through the App, by email, or through a notice on the Site. Continuing to use the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
