Quick mode vs full tracking

Updated Apr 28, 2026 · 2 min read

Elevate has two tracking depths. Quick mode is fast and team-only. Full tracking adds per-player attribution for every event. PRO subscribers can switch between the two. On Free, Quick mode is always on.

How it works

When Quick mode is on, the tray that appears after you tap the rink only asks which team the event belongs to. No player selection, no assist picker. Think of it as making ticks on paper, just digital.

When Quick mode is off (full tracking), PRO subscribers also pick the player involved and any assists on goals. Every event ties back to a specific player on your roster, which is what powers player profiles, roster analysis, and AI Insights.

You can set Quick mode as the default for all your games under Settings, or toggle it on or off mid-game from Live Game Settings inside the tracking screen. The label and description are the same in both places: "When on, skip player selection. Record events for team or opponent only."

Events tracked in Quick mode stay team-only permanently. If you switch to full tracking mid-game, the events you've already logged won't gain player attribution. Same goes for any game tracked entirely on Free.

When to use Quick mode

  • The bench is loud and you don't have time to pick players
  • You're tracking a scrimmage or exhibition where individual stats don't matter
  • You want a quick team-level snapshot without the overhead

Step-by-step

To set Quick mode as your default:

  1. Open the app and tap Settings.
  2. Find the Live tracker defaults section.
  3. Toggle Quick tracking on.

To switch mid-game:

  1. While tracking a game, tap the settings icon at the top right to open Live Game Settings.
  2. Toggle Quick tracking on or off.
  3. The change applies to all events going forward.
